Gala Performance
Introduction
In September of 1992 the Santa Maria Civic Theatre held its first Gala Performance. This entertaining evening of dining, music, and drama began as a fundraising event for the theatre's performance and production fund. Over the years it has become the highlight of our season. Before the public opening of our first show of the season, we gather 100 guests for this special invitation-only party to celebrate the beginning of a new season.
About the Evening
Imagine sumptuous hors d'oeuvres, cheese, wine, and champagne served under festive outdoor tents and in our green room. Accompanied by live music, amid lavish decorations and intimate table settings, theatre members dressed in the theme of the evening greet and serve our guests fantastic food and a warm smile. The evening has proven so popular that tickets for the event sell out almost immediately. Many local merchants donate to the effort, and hours of volunteer labor goes into the preparation and decorating of our facility. Guests are treated to a private performance of our newest production and a gourmet dessert is served during the intermission.
Santa Maria Civic Theatre is part of a very supportive community and we have many hardworking volunteers to thank for the success of our Gala Evening.

Invitations to our Gala Evening are released mid-summer each year. With our limited space, they are available on a first come basis and have become a highly anticipated prize for Santa Maria theater lovers.
